Racing is a tricky game, we all know that. The highs are fantastic, but the lows are awful and this weekend ended up being a bit of a low for us.
I won’t go into it in too much detail, but the weather was wet and changeable making set up difficult, the marshaling was patchy and we saw too much aggressive driving on track that the club weren’t prepared to deal with.
We ended up finishing in the top 10 but the whole experience left a real sour taste in my mouth. So much for the MSA’s new Race’N’Respect campaign. I saw precious little of those standards being applied to the Cadet racing this weekend.
Rant over. Now we just have to bounce back and hope that the track we’re going to next week is better…
