Another race weekend at Shenington, another trophy! Really, really proud of Theo’s performance this weekend! Despite all the issues (with him almost being flung out of the kart!) he still managed to finish 4th overall.

In Heat 1, starting from 6th, Theo climbed up to 2nd by the first lap and pushed his team mate for most of the race. However he was gutted when he didn’t see any “Last Lap” board so that he could go for the win, and had to settle for 2nd.

In Heat 2, starting from 17th, working with another driver he climbed up to 9th during the 2nd lap, only to be taken out by someone else losing control and spinning into him. T’s kart was flung up the banking and almost flipped him out of the kart), but luckily he landed back in the seat and continued racing despite being injured and falling to 24th. Theo got the hammer down and carved his way through the field to finish in 13th, limiting the damage as best as he could.

This meant that he started the final in 7th. After some hard battling at the start, which allowed the top 3 to break away from the rest, Theo settled into 5th place from lap 3 and pushed a fellow racer to try and close the big gap. 5 laps from the end, he decided that he’d closed the gap enough to 3rd place so he moved into 4th and started to chase down his team mate in front, but alas he had to settle for 4th in the end.

So a fantastic result considering what he went through all weekend long. Not only did he show persistence, determination and hunger for a top result, but he also showed some excellent race craft and clever thinking.

He played his part in achieving a fantastic team result which saw the Allstars drivers finish 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 11th, 12th, 17th and Top Novice in the Honda Cadet class, and 1st in the IAME Cadet class – testament to all the hard work that Luke Hines and Aaron Charles have put into the team. Well done guys, and thanks!
